    NOT UP TO THE PREZ

    Tim Singiswa, via e-mail.

Zanele Mbeki has got it completely wrong by insinuating that Thabo Mbeki, as the president, should give black people housing, food and education. That is outside his obligations and priorities.

All he can do is announce projects and programmes to be taken advantage of by citizens. As the president of the country his obligation is to grow the economy and interact with foreign governments to make it possible for South Africans to extend their commercial interests to foreign countries.

His wife is the one who should have helped people form farming co-operatives, access Land Bank funds and enter into contracts with abattoirs and milling companies to supply them with livestock, maize and sunflowers.
