    UK-SA trade in numbers

    216 business leaders and 12 ministers were part of President Jacob Zuma's delegation on his state visit to the UK last week.

    R132bn is the value of UK foreign investment in SA. Britain remains SA's largest foreign investor.

    R89,2bn (£8bn) is the value of two-way goods and services trade.

    173% is the growth in trade between SA and the UK between 1998 and 2008.

    4th is the UK's ranking as an SA export partner in 2008/2009.

    650 000 is the estimated number of South Africans living and working in the UK.

    250 000 is the number of British expats resident in SA.

    400 000 tourists from the UK visit SA annually.

    32 SA shops in the UK sell exclusively SA products.

    10% is the expected increase this year in wine volumes to the UK, SA's biggest wine importer.

    R29,2bn is the current value of SA's commercial agricultural exports to the UK and Europe.

    12 The years over which existing tariffs will be phased out under the SA-UK trade, development & co-operation agreement.

    £67m is what the UK will spend to boost Southern African trade. The SA health system will benefit from another £25m.
