By Ian Fife

Rap Fund is a fund of convenience - small neighbourhood centres of below 15 000 m² - retail malls, mainly in Gauteng.

In early 2007, Retail Africa sold 20% shares each in the fund to the Atterbury fund Attacq and UK property company Folkes Holdings. The deal valued the portfolio at R440m.

Retail Africa has also launched Wingspan to house larger centres and office parks currently valued at R1,4bn.
